BANISH THE JANUARY BLUES WITH LOTTIE LONDON

Being a part time waitress in a hotel that implements a strict uniform, means that it isn't often I have opportunity to wear nail polish and when the opportunity's do arise for pretty coloured nails I often forget to paint my fingertips or simply don't have the time to do so. I've never been one for biting or picking at my nails so they are a good length and quite strong too!  So when I do find the time to sit down and paint my nails it really does feel like a little treat.

Whilst browsing through Superdrug last week, I came across a brand that I wasn't familiar with; Lottie London. I think it was the striking colours of their makeup brushes that originally grabbed my attention before my gaze fell upon their wonderful array of nail colours. I can't even remember the last time I bought a new nail varnish, so it was definitely time to add to my collection. After a good ten minutes of umming and ahhing, I was able to whittle down my choice to just three shades: Classy Gal, Dream Weaver and In Demand. Aren't they just wonderful names? I think they're very sweet.

Classy Gal is the grey toned nude worn on my thumb and little finger. I really enjoy wearing nude nail polish, perhaps its because I'm not used to wearing any polish at all... seeing loud colours such as red on the tips of my fingers always gives me a little shock.  Classy Gal did take three coats to reach the colour you see here, however the drying time for each coat was very short. Although not very opaque, the end result is that of a beautifully mature, cool toned grey.

Dream Weaver is the colour featured on both my index and ring fingers, which is a powdery baby blue. In real life, this colour also seems to have a subtle slight grey tone running through it. I think this actually makes the colour look slightly more sophisticated. If you're looking to stray away from dark winter colours on your nails, but don't want to commit to bright springy colours, then this muted blue is a wonderful compromise. Hey, it's even reflective of the icy weather we've been having recently! (I'm so witty heh heh).

Lastly, In Demand is the colour on my middle finger. For some reason this colour makes me think about mermaids....  Any-who, In demand is a confetti polish with flecks of aqua, navy and gold visible in a clear polish. My whole nail was covered in just one coat! I think this colour goes nicely with Classy Gal, but looks even more beautiful when paired with Dream Weaver as an accent nail.

Those are the three colours I've been playing about with on my fingertips when I've had the chance this month. Do let me know, what nail polishes have you been loving this January? And have you ever tried Lottie London before?

With love,

Always
